So I took a stab at it and got interesting results! Gotta make sure I keep it stable so I can enjoy the fruits of my labour in the 10 years it takes to grow these! I got the seed from a store bought pomegranate. Can you believe it?
I went to the grocery store this morning. It was a beautiful day with the perfect temperature of 28 degrees. The parking lot was packed with cars, the bike rack was empty. I locked my bike to the rack and continued on. My cart had a few items, lettuce head, tomatoes, avocado, bananas and chicken. That’s it. The guy in front of me at the lineup bought buns, hot dogs and chips. The guy behind me bought gatorade and soft drinks. The woman beside me bought a bunch of canned and boxed “food”.
These people are willingly poisoning themselves in the “greatest nation”.
I’ve been to many art galleries and I am not struck with the same sense of wonder or creativity as much as a walk through Ikea.
Ikea gives you the full visual experience. It’s not just art on the wall. The art is the wall, its the floor, the ceiling and everything in it. Imagine how amazing a museum would be if they considered all aspects of the environment. The Ikea designers there probably put more thought and care for their viewers than most artists do it seems!
Happy Earth Day!
Remember, the environmentalist movement is not actually about saving the Earth. The Earth will still be here when humans die out! The movement is actually about maintaining a sustainable environment so that the human race can last! And humans happen to depend on food and the air which depends on an ecological system of clean water, plants and animals!
We are doing our part by:
– Composting up to 40% of our garbage.
– We use the soil to grow our own food. We have more than 300 plants!
– Riding our bicycles as our mode of transportation as much as possible.
– Keeping ourselves informed. Read the labels, read the news, read into everything!
– Starting a clothing line that is 100% organic local cotton (including thread!) with plant based dyes (from my own garden!)! (more details to come!)
It’s not easy, but living in pollution isn’t any easier! I’m not saying we should all do exactly what I am doing, there is more that I could be doing and you could probably do even more! What I want to say is we should try our best to do our part. I lived in a studio apartment for years working full time at an office and still managed to compost and grow a few herbs and even volunteer. Where there is a will, there is a way! There are no excuses! Cynicism is poison for the soul. Ignorance is poison for the brain. Pollution is poison for the body.
Stay connected, stay healthy, stay informed, stay green!
This was unlike anything I ever experienced! Imagine not being able to move one limb, not even your fingers, not even your toes. I couldn’t open my eyes. I was frozen. I used all my might, I couldn’t budge at all! It was an awful feeling.
I think it came from sleep deprivation/sleep interruption. My husband left early for work, and I remember asking him to turn off the fans before leaving. He claims he doesn’t remember me asking him this, so this could have been part of the dream. One of the fans has a slight clattering that make it sound like someone is walking around the house. I thought he turned it off, so when I heard that clattering, I actually thought someone was walking in the house. I wanted to investigate, but I couldn’t open my eyes to even see. I think this lasted for 20 minutes.
